About

Since October 2016 when Amy began, she has developed a portfolio of contacts in the local public ISDs, charter schools, and private schools. These contacts are with superintendents, principals, curriculum directors, school board members, and teachers. She has worked to develop relationships with schools statewide, with a focus in the Houston area. Amy has built good will with administrators in schools, as well as with state education leaders on the State Board of Education, Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA), Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA) and the Region Service Centers across the state. As Outreach Coordinator, Amy Jurica Hinnant’s duties compliment the mission of the Research Office (CERD) to assist in the development of research for the School of Education and Human Development (SEHD), which include but have not been limited to: working to support the faculty researchers in developing and maintaining relationships with research stakeholders and participants (schools or agencies), coordinating with the SEHD Communications team, assisting with recruitment of study participants and maintaining communication between the CERD Office and faculty researchers, and promoting the SEHD in the field of education.
While a great deal of emphasis has been placed on schools, Amy has also worked extensively with several local agencies (Brazos Valley Rehabilitation Center, Brazos Valley Council for Independent Living, Brazos Valley Council of Governments, United Way of the Brazos Valley to name a few), as a conduit to promote the work of faculty researchers and research centers of SEHD.
Another key component of Amy’s work has been relationship development with faculty. In order to help best match research goals with the needs of schools, Amy must understand the dynamics of all stakeholders including the research faculty. She works with the faculty to learn as much as possible about their projects to effectively promote the work.
