The Faculty Affairs Office facilitates faculty development, including promotion and tenure for tenure-track faculty, and academic professional faculty track, Faculty Development Leave (FDL), the STaR Mentoring program, and Faculty Success Program. The office also coordinates faculty searches, faculty hiring, appointment of endowed faculty chairs, faculty fellows, faculty awards, and provides administrative support for the faculty elected committees.

STaR Mentoring Program
The College of Education and Human development mentoring program for new assistant professors started in fall 2017. The Service, Teaching and Research (STaR) Mentoring program originated from the College of Education and Human Development Catapult grant, which proposed beginning a STaR Mentoring Program for new faculty members. The grant received full funding, and The STaR Program, now in its second year is operated by the faculty affairs and academic affairs offices. The program has served 20 new faculty members by matching them with 20 seasoned faculty members across the college. The program lasts one year, and is aimed at jump-starting faculty careers. This year CEHD Development Office obtained additional funding ($2000 per new faculty) and to name these new faculty the Jerry and Kay Cox Fellows
Faculty Success Program
The Faculty Success Program is offered by the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity. The main goal of the program is all about learning the secrets to increasing research productivity, getting control of time, and living a full healthy life beyond ones campus. As NCFDD’s signature program, the Faculty Success Program is specifically designed to transform participants’ personal and professional life. The program is for tenure-track faculty and tenured faculty who are looking for the perfect combination of empirically tested methods to improve research productivity through intense accountability, coaching, and peer support and to propel their work-life balance and personal growth to a whole new level.
The College of Education and Human Development in collaboration with our four academic departments plans to support our faculty interested in participating in NCFDD’s Faculty Success Program. Last year EAHR and TLAC in collaboration with CEHD supported 8 faculty who participated in the Faculty Success Program. Based on their positive experiences, we think that this is a worthwhile career development program for our faculty.
We assist in the development and submission of research proposals, coordinate award documentation and manage post-award financial activities. We provide workshops for faculty and graduate students on grant submission, grant-seeking, and create compelling, competitive proposals. And we serve as a liaison to schools and other stakeholders in your research programs. The CERD pre and post award staff are happy to meet with you in your office to discuss any questions you have about your submission, project account, or outreach activities.
Council of Principal Investigators
Council members represent Principal Investigators and faculty affiliated with Centers and Institutes. The Council commits to advancing CEHD’s goals in teaching and research. The CPI meets at least four times annually with a meeting schedule to be determined by members.
Academic Affairs provides leadership and support over academic programs and policy, educator preparation, student affairs, academic advising, recruitment and retention efforts, and data analysis and assessment for the College of Education and Human Development.

Established in 2007, the Byrne Student Success Center provides students with the tools and resources they need to be academically and personally successful. Students are offered individualized Student Success Counseling, career support, strategic referrals to free campus resources, and are provided opportunities for co-curricular involvement and leadership development.
The CEHD Development office’s primary role is to raise endowed funds for the college. The two development officers are responsible for identifying, cultivating, and engaging prospective donors to support the college’s priorities, as set forth by the dean. All requests from faculty for assistance in fundraising for a particular program or initiative must be vetted by the respective faculty member’s department head prior to consideration by the development office, and is subject to the Dean’s approval.

Faculty Advisory Council
The Faculty Advisory Council serves as an advisory body to the Dean. The council develops ideas and recommends programs for the improvement of the college. The council consists of three faculty-elected members, one member from each department, and the Faculty Senate Caucus Leader. The council has monthly meetings, and all members of the faculty may attend.
Staff Advisory Council
The SAC serves as an advisory body to the dean on matters of interest and importance to the staff of the college. The council encourages the input of staff on developing ideas to improve the college. Information is channeled to the dean from the SAC for review and approval. The SAC meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Meetings are open to CEHD staff.
Our mission is to provide quality service, support and resources which will enhance the mission of our college. To this end, we provide budgeting, accounts payable, post-award research administration, payroll, human resource support, technology and facility services for the faculty, staff and students of the College of Education and Human Development.

The Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development (EAHR) develops educational leaders and improves practice through teaching, research and service in the areas of public school administration, human resource development, higher education administration, adult education and student affairs administration. Statewide and nationally, EAHR graduates, faculty and staff play major roles in the education of children and adults.
The Department of Educational Psychology
The Department of Educational Psychology (EPSY) is home to a variety of interrelated disciplines and degree options focused on human development and well-being in educational and community contexts. Our undergraduate programs prepare students to work with children and youth in a variety of community and school contexts. We also offer a range of professional master’s degrees geared towards professionals in schools, communities, and the corporate world. For those interested in doctoral studies we offer Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Educational Psychology, Counseling Psychology, and School Psychology.
